Approached Chinese Non-Muslims

Assalamualaikum

Kali ni excited nak update blog, nak cerita pasal pengalaman pertama conduct interview dengan orang luar. Ni semua sebab assignment thinking skill, lecturer aku minta interview chinese non-muslims tentang pendapat diorang mengenai Islam. btw, nama lecturer aku , Xifu Nasser. Abdul Nasser is his full name, writer dekat Sinar Harian. famous sebenarnya xifu ni, tapi sebabkan aku ni tak banyak membaca, and tak amek tahu hal isu semasa, so aku ibarat katak bawah tempurung tak kenal xifu ni! hahahaha malunyaaa.

Nak dijadikan cerita, memandangkan kita kena buat interview dengan orang luar so aku dengan group member2 aku ni pun outing la cari tempat utk cari volunteer. Mula-mula plan nak gi KL Sentral, tapi syasya (one of member group aku) cakap tempat tu mcm tak sesuai, sebab orang semua tengah rushing.. yelaa tempat transit tunggu bus, monorel, lrt, erl bagai. Semua macam busy dengan plan sendiri, takkan la tetibe org tgh galas beg besar nak naik bus.. aku dgn kwn2 kacau diorg, mintak interview tanya pendapat. Suasana dia mcm tak kena la hahahaha. Tukarlah plan, kami cadang pergi taman reaksi. Sebab kat taman je mood orang nak bersantai, mood rilex, dalam keadaan tenang + ceria harapnya. Hihihi so kami pun pergilah Tasik Taman Jaya berhadapan dengan Amcorp Mall. Kebetulan tempat tu dekat je dengan UIA,PJ , kos nak pergi pun jimat sebab naik bus hijau free tuu hahahaha.

Masa kat Tasik Taman Jaya tu, kami tinjau2 tempat dulu.. rupanya besar jugaklah taman tu, first time kot aku jejak situ so rasa mcm jakun sikit. Hahaha lepastu cari tempat sewa basikal, setengah jam RM5 tapi bila dah sampat tempat sewa tu, basikal semua habis orang pakai. Alaaa tak merasa nak ronda-ronda taman naik basikal. Then kitorang gi tempat taman permainan, tempat alatan2 gym tu (idk what the real name for that place) , kitorang try semua mainan. hahahaha termasuk kaki pengayuh apa entah nama. Sambil-sambil tu mata kitorang meliar jugaklah cari chinese non-muslims untuk jadi volunteer dlm interview kami. Tapi seawal jam 5 hingga ke 6pm tu, tak nampak pun cina! resah gelisah oii, mana la diorang ni? tak keluar beriadah ke? penat berjemur dah hitam legam busuk ngan peluh, pukul 6 lebih tu baru nampak aunty2 cina ada jogging. Yess! dah ada 'mangsa' hehehehe.  First volunteer, kitorang jumpa aunty cina jog dengan husband dia. She's so kind! kitorang dekati dia, cakap kitorang ni nk interview dia pasal pendapat mengenai islam utk assignment kami. and she said "yeah okay!" kitorang tanya pendapat dia, and she gave us positive feedback. Dia ceritakan yg dia ada niece peluk islam, so bila time gathering family, beli makanan yg halal and aunty tu tau apa yg haram dimakan. Pastu dia ckp selagi kita hormat sesama sndiri .. Its fine. Katanya lagi, Malaysia kan amalkan sikap terbuka, "so you have right to choose your own religion"

Then, kami interview a group of aunties. 2 chinese and 1 indian. Kami tanya soalan yg sama, "what is your opinion about Islam?" they also gave good feedback. Kata mereka, every religion promote good things, so as long as we do good things and you do good things then its okay! dont do bad things, people will not like you . Islam is the religion of peace right?" . Yeah, their answers almost the same like our first volunteer. panjang lagi kisahnya but I make it short. Memandangkan dah lewat petang, and kami tak solat asar lagi.. so kami decide pergi Amcorp Mall which is infront of Tasik Taman Jaya , nak tumpang solat kat surau mall tu. Lepas dah solat asar , pergi makan apa semua, pastu lepas solat maghrib. ingat nak balik dah.. groupmates kata diorg rasa seronok plak nterview non-muslims. Sebabnya, kami suka dengar pendapat diorang tentang Islam. So, masa kami jenjalan dalam mall, kami jumpa sorang lelaki cina lingkungan 20an nak masuk 30an kot dekat Kenny Rogers.

Nak dijadikan cerita, kami berbual dengan lelaki tu almost 1 hour, siap duduk semeja borak macam dah lama kenal. Dia peramah sangat, friendly, habis semua org yg lalu dekat dgn dia, dia senyum, tegur. Rasa mcm dia tu femes or mmg pengunjung setia mall tu. Dia suruh kami panggil dia "Danny Lee" . Dia bagi kritikan tentang muslim (the one who practice Islam) , bukannya kritik agama Islam (pegangan). Dia kata, bukan semua muslim jahat, buruk, cuma ada sesetengah je perangai mcmtu. Dia ada kawan yg muslims, and dia cakap kawan2 dia semua baik sampaikan time kawan dia nak kawen, kawan dia ckp kat dia yg dia wajib datang (hahahaha ni hasil perbualan kitorg). But the point here is, Danny Lee ada cakap "apa yg agama ajarkan itu dipanggil teori. Kalau kita follow apa yg agama ajar, itu dipanggil praktik/praktikal. Dua2 ni sangat penting, teori and praktikal kena jalan serentak . tak guna kalau you baca buku (Quran maksudnya) berjuta-juta kali, tapi you tak buat apa yg buku you ajar (means mcm tak praktikkan apa Quran ajar; contoh solat, puasa) . you tau teori, tapi tak praktik, takkan jadi. sama mcm you taktau teori nak sembahyang (solat) , tapi you main redah je sembahyang kat your God. you rasa apa you dapat? nothing. useless" . Lepastu dia sebut pasal 3 element yg diajarkan agama dia (buddhism) . Kasih Sayang(love) Ikhlas (sincerity) dan Hormat (respect). "Love is define as when you help people regardless their religion, skin colour or anything else. Sincerity is define as when you do something with full of your heart, you put so much efforts on doing something. There's no point you force your heart to see the monk for doing such thing (lebih kurg mcm beribadah la dlm konteks islam) but your focus is not 100% on it. You go to temple, your physical body meet the monk but your heart is at somewhere else. Thinking about you wealth; big car, big company (ni contoh dlm agama dia). You got nothing at there (temple) even you said you already sembah2 all those kind of thing. And last about Respect , do respect your parents. They have given you so many things in your life. I had 1 example, this one guy (muslim) left his very old father at the mosque. He didn't accompany his father. He just drop his father there, then left him alone. (time ni dia ckp pasal parents je, and x faham sgt apa dia cuba smpaikan. maybe nak ckp sampai hati anak tinggalkan ayah yg dh tua, x berupaya mcm tu je kat masjid.)"- Danny Lee.

Kalau nak cerita the whole conversation, rasanya tak muat satu entri. Serius, lama gila kitorang berbual dengan Danny Lee ni. and mostly he also gave good feedback about muslim. Hmm cuma kami tak puas hati lagi dengan apa yg ktorang interview. Xifu cakap cari org yg boleh kritik pasal Islam/Muslim. tapi none of them yg hentam Muslims. How positive they think! ni kalau tanya org muslim especially the malay society about other religions, mesti dah kutuk agama lain mcm2. Allahu malunya!

So kesimpulannya, apa yg kitorang dapat dari interview ni, kitorang rasa yg timbulnya isu2 negatif a.k.a masalah dalam agama ni sebenarnya datang dari diri kita sendiri. Yelaa, as individual opinion, bagi aku kita kena ubah cara mindset kita. Tak semestinya agama2 lain ada kutuk agama kita sama mcm kita; ada muslim (sesetengahnya) kutuk agama lain. Kat sini nampak mcm muslim yg tak reti nak hormat agama lain mcm mana diorang (non-muslim) hormat agama kita. Bak kata pepatah, kerana nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga. Come on la! Kalau kita tak ubah diri kita dulu, macam mana kita nak ubah sikap dalam masyarakat? sesuatu pembaharuan yg besar bermula dari langkah yang kecil. Rasanya smpai sini je kot nak citer tu dulu. may Allah bless our life! In Shaa Allah.

Don't wait to change but change ourself now before its too late!

Assalamualaikum.
